In Supermarket Perimeter's April 2023 issue, we highlighted three innovative products that are new to the fresh perimeter. You can read this story and more in our digital issue here.
King Arthur
King Arthur’s new Gluten-Free Bread Flour allows bakers to create, for the first time, gluten-free bread and other treats that offer the same taste, texture and rise as traditional baked goods. Following last year’s release of Gluten-Free Pizza Flour, the new product builds on the company’s portfolio of more than two dozen gluten-free flours and mixes. King Arthur’s Gluten-Free Bread Flour is the first gluten-free bread flour in the American market.
Impossible Foods
Impossible Foods’ latest product, Impossible Beef Lite, contains 21 grams of protein and offers a flavorful, high-protein meat alternative for dishes like tacos, chili, stir-frys or soups, according to the company. It also contains zero trans fat or cholesterol, 75% less saturated fat and 45% less total fat than its conventional beef counterpart.
Dietz & Watson
Dietz & Watson has launched two new deli meat items, Hot & Honey Chicken and its uncured Cherrywood Smoked Ham. The sweet-and-heat flavor profile of the new chicken offering was created as an homage to Nashville’s iconic hot chicken. It’s made from chicken breasts seasoned by tumbling the meat with spices and flavored with clover honey and cayenne pepper.
