CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Dole Food Company is seeking three established social media influencers to add to its team of content ambassadors.

To scout the talent, the company has launched a competition for influencers to create and share their own DIY Dole Whip recipes.

The Dole Whip made its debut at Disneyland in the 1980s as part of Dole’s sponsorship of the Enchanted Tiki Room, the company said.

Now Dole is promoting at-home innovation with the treat through its #DoleWhipLife 2024 Dole Creators of the Year campaign.

“As Dole continues to expand its digital footprint and equity in healthy living, we’ve identified the need to expand our family of advocates who can help us spread our vision for a healthier, happier, more fruitful life,” said Rachel Young, Dole’s media marketing manager. “We think combining the industry’s most experienced recipe-developers, dietitians, and produce marketers with a select group of consumers with passionate followings aligns us well for the future.”

“Of course, this being Dole, we also need to make sure that all new ambassadors can make a great Dole Whip,” Young added.

To be eligible for the competition, influencers must have at least 10,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook; answer a series of screening questions; and submit an original, nutritionally focused Dole Whip recipe that features DOLE Pineapple and/or Bananas and a minimum amount of added sugar.

The applicants are encouraged to be creative with a variety of other Dole fruits like Plantains; Dragon Fruit; Mangoes; Strawberries; Blueberries; Blackberries; Raspberries; Green, Red and Black Grapes; Oranges; and Avocados, Dole said.

Dole Whip-adjacent recipes like floats, puddings, popsicles, overnight oats and breakfast and lunch options that have the same appearance and consistency as a Dole Whip will also be accepted.

The deadline to enter is Jan. 15, 2024, and the three winners will be contacted by Feb. 2, before being publicly announced as #DoleWhipLife 2024 Dole Creators of the Year Feb. 7.
