Demand for ¡Yo Quiero!’s new Avocado & Egg line has been “astonishing,” with strong positive reviews from consumers, retailers and social media influencers, said Tara Murray, vice president of marketing for Fresh Innovations, LLC, which owns the brand.
The product taps into the avocado toast craze and comes in three flavors: Everything Seasoning, Crushed Red Pepper and Spinach/Tomato/Onion.
¡Yo Quiero! rolled out the line to select Costco divisions in December and is now expanding nationwide.
“Retailers can’t wait to get it on their shelves,” said Jay Alley, co-owner and vice president of sales. “The mix of fresh avocados, hard boiled eggs and spices is the perfect, on-trend spread for breakfast toast, bagels or right out of the cup. It’s a great way to start any day.” Avocado & Egg aside, ¡Yo Quiero! is always refining and adding new SKUs to what it calls its Ultimate Dip Destination roster of dips.
The lineup features better-for-you dips including guacamole, salsa, bean dip, corn dip, queso and more. Items can be found in both fresh produce and deli departments at retail.
Other new products in just the past year include elote dip (Mexican street corn), creamy bean dip made with traditional bayo beans, avocado salsa verde made with fresh avocados and tomatillos, and escabeche (pickled veggies in a jalapeno brine).
“Our goal is to provide premium dips that are much better than anything that can be found on the chip aisle,” Murray said. “Consumers demand high quality flavor and ingredients in what they eat, and we provide it.”
Items can be merchandised in both fresh produce and deli departments.
For produce, ¡Yo Quiero! likes to offer buyers and store managers the option of its fresh cut cup container, a clear, lightly branded container that helps retailers create the Ultimate Dip Destination in their department without losing the look and feel of their fresh-cut section.
“We pride ourselves in working with retailers and helping them solve the needs within their departments,” Alley said. “This packaging does just that.”
