WESTFIELD, WIS. – Brakebush Brothers Inc. announced on Jan. 3 that it acquired Lake Foods, based in Hartwell, Ga.

Lake Foods runs a portioning facility for raw, sized, marinated and ready-to-cook chicken products.

“We are very enthusiastic about this acquisition,” said Gregory Huff, president and chief executive officer of Brakebush. “The values, expertise, and capabilities of this facility put us in great position to continue to grow our existing customer base and aggressively pursue new business.”

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Brakebush Brothers is a family owned processor of chicken products that has been in operation for almost 100 years. It produces various value-added chicken products for foodservice, chain restaurants and industrial markets.

With the addition of Lake Foods, Brakebush now operates five production facilities in the United States and maintains its headquarters in Westfield, Wis.
