Dietz & Watson, in response to the better-for-you snacking craze, is expanding its Originals line with new snacking items.
The Originals line — which debuted two years ago and includes prepackaged meats, cheeses, franks and sausages — now includes snacking cheeses, beef jerky, alive pouches, fire-roasted vegetables and more.
“One of the main reasons for our success over the past 75 years has been our ability to not only react to consumer demands, but to anticipate them, so we worked hard on perfecting the Originals product line for years,” says Louis Eni, president and CEO of Dietz & Watson and grandson of company founder Gottlieb Dietz. “There is still a lot of ongoing research into antibiotic use in livestock and its effect on resistant bacteria in humans, but regardless of where the science takes us, there is no question that consumers are interested in ABF and organic products.”
The line's three varieties of 2.2-oz pouched olives include Seasoned, Green and Citrus. Also include are classic proteins, such as Truffle Salami, Sopressata, Pepper Salami, Chorizo, Genoa Salami and an Herb de Provence Salami. In addition, are 4-oz packs of meat and cheese medallion and mini paninos that include pepperoni, Genoa salami or prosciutto wrapped over mozzarella cheese.
All of the items are NAE (no antibiotics ever) and organic and come in resealable packaging.
