ROME — Premium olive and antipasti supplier Ficacci has added a new product to its line of olives packaged in paper trays.

According to the company, the paper tray is 100% recyclable and keeps olives fresh in a ready-to-use format with a design “so fancy that it suits any table.”

The packaging has top and bottom plastic films that consumers can easily remove to serve the olives right in the paper tray.

Ficacci’s newest product to be offered in the paper trays is the Mediterranean Olive Platter with three separate compartments for Castelvetrano, Kalamata, and an Italian Olive Mix with Sweet Peppers.

The Paper Tray line also includes Cerignola, Castelvetrano pitted and unpitted, Bella Italia pitted mix, and Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives.

According the Ficacci, its Paper Tray line received awards at SIAL Paris in 2022 and the Fancy Food Show in New York in 2023.

The technology Ficacci has used since 2021 for 100% recyclable eco-friendly paper packaging will help reduce plastic usage by 70% by 2030, said Giuseppe Ficacci, the company's marketing and export sales director.
