SALISBURY, MD. — Fourth-generation, family owned protein processor Perdue Farms was named one of the most trustworthy companies in America by Newsweek.

Newsweek recognized a total of 700 companies, and Perdue ranked 16^th out of 45 food and beverage businesses.

For this second annual report, market research partner Statista collaborated with Newsweek a in review of 3,100 US-based companies with revenue over $500 million.

The rankings are based on trust amongst consumers. A pool of 25,000 Americans was surveyed on the companies’ customer treatment, career growth opportunities and investor interest.

Perdue Farms said its products are antibiotic-free and it never uses drugs for growth promotion in raising poultry and livestock. The company implements animal welfare programs, which it actively works to improve.
