Green Bay, Wis.-based BelGioioso Cheese continues to provide more convenient options for consumers with extensions of its snacking line, pre-sliced varieties and its grated and shredded line, said Jamie Wichlacz, the company’s marketing public relations manager.

Specialty smoked and marinated cheeses are another trending category for BelGioioso.

And the company recently received OU Kosher certification at two Wisconsin production facilities, joining two other certified facilities in New York state, Wichlacz said.

“We are now positioned to provide a wide offering of Kosher certified cheeses including Fresh Mozzarella, Burrata and Ricotta, along with some snacking cheeses, like our Polly-O String Cheese.”

Fresh cheeses like Burrata, Stracciatella, and Fresh Mozzarella with smoked or marinated flavors continue to be popular, Wichlacz said. New to the company’s Artigiano line is a blueberry-flavored cheese.

Convenience continues to be a factor in the category on both the consumer and foodservice sides, Wichlacz said, and BelGioioso has new products to show for it. The company recently introduced single serve Burrata cups, Provolone Snacking Bites, a 3-pack Provolone & Salame Roll, pre-sliced Scamorza-Rella for snacking, and larger cups of grated and shredded cheeses.

Adding new flavors, varieties and products is a natural fit for BelGioioso, which is able to leverage the brand equity it’s built up over decades in the industry.

“Brands like BelGioioso provide consumers with the flavors and quality they can trust,” Wichlacz said. “Once they taste one cheese, they become curious about the company. Once they know who we are and hear our story, we see that it provides consumers a confidence to try another variety of BelGioioso, resulting in more sales at retail.”

Consumers trust a brand that delivers on quality and freshness, she added, and they like having a touchpoint with the brand and company.
