NEW YORK – The latest Nielsen Total US dollar sales data shows that grocery sales are still up for the week ending on April 4 compared to the same timeframe in 2019. Total consumers packaged goods sales (CPG) in the United States were up 15.8%, online CPG sales were up 41.7% and online food sales overall were up 79.8%. 

Overall sales are down slightly from the previous week of March 28, which saw total instore CPG sales up 21.5% and online CPG sales up 47%. Instore, spiral hams (up 424.4%), baking yeast (up 302.5%), oat milk (up 296.9%) and fresh meat alternatives (up 205.4%) were the largest movers the week of April 4.
