A Utah grocery chain has put a cooking school in its new-concept, smaller-footprint store — among other retail foodservice highlights.
The 18th store in the Harmons chain opened Feb. 21 in Holladay, Utah. At 16,500 square feet, it’s smaller than the traditional Harmons, but big on retail foodservice. The store features a modern cooking school where budding chefs and foodies can hone their cooking schools and enjoy foods made in-store.
In addition, the Holladay store features “an unsurpassed selection of fresh foods prepared from scratch by skilled chefs, a gelato bar featuring sweet creations made in the Italian tradition, artisan bread baked fresh daily by specialty-trained bakers, the largest selection of specialty cheese you can find” and other offerings, according to a company statement.
"We are proud to officially open our doors to the Holladay community so that customers living and working in this area can experience all that Harmons has to offer," says Bob Harmon, co-owner and vice president for the customer for West Valley City, Utah-based Harmons. "This project has been in the works for several years, and we are thrilled to see it become a reality."
