CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Dole Food Company is rolling out its sweetest pineapples to date.

According to the company, the DOLE Golden Selection Pineapples are grown in Costa Rica and are not only sweeter than its other pineapples but also juicier and brighter in color.

The pineapples will be available in limited quantities, as only 6% of Dole’s pineapples meet the qualifications for the Golden Selection label.

“In the 122 years that Dole has been cultivating pineapples in Hawaii, Central and South America and throughout the tropics, we’ve learned what it takes to grow the world’s best, most beloved fruit,” said William Goldfield, Dole’s director of corporate communications. “While all Dole pineapples are tender, sweet and packed with nutrients, healthy enzymes and Vitamins B6 and C, these new Golden Selection Pineapples glow and taste just a little brighter.”
