CARLISLE, PA. – The GIANT Company’s nutritionists are offering live classes via Zoom for chefs of all ages throughout March and April to help customers learn nutritious recipes.  

“The warmer days of spring bring the spark of energy we need to recharge and restart after a long winter,” said Holly Doan, regional nutritionist with The GIANT Company. “With National Nutritionist Month in March along with Easter and other fun spring activities, we’re available virtually to help families with fresh and affordable meal ideas and offer aspiring kid chefs a chance to practice their creative cooking skills with fun snacks everyone will enjoy.”  

In March, the nutritionists are partnering with the PA Beef Council to inspire with a variety of nourishing beef dishes you can whip up in 30 minutes or less. The schedule includes: 

  • March 16:  Irish Inspired Beef Pot Roast and Vegetables 

  • March 23: Ground Beef Pasta Skillet Primavera 

  • March 30: Steak & Blue Cheese Wraps 

  • April 6: Asparagus Fettucine Carbonara 

  • April 13: Sausage and Spinach Pizzadilla 

  • April 20: Everyday Mediterranean Salad 

  • April 27: Sheet Pan Chicken & Vegetable Fajitas  

On Mondays at 10:30 a.m., mini chefs ages 6 and younger will enjoy a story and create nourishing snacks. The complete schedule includes: 

  • March 22:  Veggie Garden & Yogurt Dip 

  • March 29: Piggy Parfaits 

  • April 5: Cucumber Tea Party 

  • April 12: Dinosaur Lettuce Adventure 

  • April 19: Tomato Pizza Party 

  • April 26: Sunflower Creation Station 

Every Wednesday at 4 p.m., junior chefs ages 7 to 18 will learn about a seasonal nutrition topic and then make a healthy snack. The schedule includes: 

  • March 17: Lucky Leprechaun Hummus & Shamrock Dippers 

  • March 24: Green Eggs & Ham Mini Frittatas 

  • March 31: Strawberry Greek Yogurt Cheesecake Minis 

  • April 7: Strawberry Crepes with Greek Yogurt Crème 

  • April 14: National Soft Pretzel Month – 30 Minute Soft Pretzels 

  • April 21: Earth Day Celebration – Dessert Dirt Cups 

  • April 28: National Blueberry Pie Day – Mini Blueberry Pies 

In April, The GIANT Company Nutritionists will also be offering fresh topics each week to provide adults with tips for making healthful choices every day. These include intuitive eating classes Tuesdays at 12 p.m., plant-forward eating on Wednesdays at 12 p.m., spring self-care Thursdays at 7 p.m. and feature Fridays at 12 p.m.
