Fresh bean, tomato and vegetable specialist Furmano’s has expanded its product roster to include ancient grains.

The fully cooked ancient gains are targeted at foodservice markets and will be sold in shelf-stable pouches.

The ready-to-serve products will come in three varieties: quinoa, farro and sorghum.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring the company into a brand-new category,” says Jen Esposito, Furmano’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Ancient grains offer the delicious nutrition we built our business on, and they allow us to deliver a differentiated, in-demand product to our foodservice customers.”
