Green Bay, Wisconsin-based BelGioioso Cheese was a big winner at the American Cheese Society’s annual conference.
BelGioioso won nine medals, including “best in the world” designations for its parmesan and mascarpone cheeses. The two cheeses received similar plaudits at the World Championship Cheese Contest in March.
“It’s quite an honor for our cheesemakers who passionately hand-craft these world class cheeses each day,” says Errico Auricchio, the company’s president.
In addition to the two “best in the world” winners, BelGioioso’s parmesan won a 1st place Gold Medal and its American grana a 2nd place Silver Medal, both in the Italian Style Grating Types category.
Other BelGioioso cheeses winning medals from the American Cheese Society include Black Truffle Burrata, Mozzarella Thermoform Ball, Crumbly Gorgonzola with Sheep’s Milk, Ricotta Con Latte and Artigiano Aged Balsamic & Cipolline Onion.
