Retail grocery giant Albertsons has reentered the convenience store business.

Boise-based Albertsons opened a combination fuel center/c-store, Albertsons Express, across the street from one of its full-size grocery stores in Boise, according to a story in the Idaho Statesman.

Albertsons formerly operated 300 fuel centers, but sold them when the company was bought by Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based SuperValu, according to the story.

The new 3,100-square-foot c-store sells deli sandwiches, doughnuts and other foodservice products, according to the story. It also has a drive-through window.
