ORLANDO — At the International Fresh Produce Association’s inaugural show Oct. 27- 29, Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Robinson Fresh, a division of C.H. Robinson, introduced an avocado pack that holds four pieces of fruit, each at a different level of ripeness.

Branded Daily Do’s, the stand-up, recyclable boxes feature slots for four avocados. Graphics on the side of the box indicate which pieces of fruit are “Ready now” or “Ready later” in four gradations of ripeness.

It’s perfect, said Rob Lynch, Robinson Fresh’s director of strategic retail accounts, for smaller households who maybe only need one avocado at a time but don’t want to make multiple trips to the store per week.

Also at the IFPA show, Robinson Fresh introduced another four-count, stand-up box, which is 100% biodegradable. The box holds preripened fruit treated with Apeel shelf life-extending technology.

Both boxes can be hung for a different merchandising look.
