CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dole Food Company has hired Dan Welk as its new vice president of sales for Dole Diversified North America (DDNA).

Early in his career, Welk worked for Dole Fresh Vegetables. His 25 years of experience in the produce industry also include positions at Del Monte, Earthbound and Mann Packing. 

“I am very grateful for this opportunity to join the team,” Welk said. “My initiation into the produce world started with Dole so it feels a bit of a homecoming.” 

DDNA focuses primarily on berries, grapes and citrus and has had recent success in the berry category. Welk will provide direction as that growth continues. 

“Dan’s addition to the team will help us in continuing the retail growth of our business and bring his wealth of experience and customer centric focus to support Dole Diversified in our expansion plans,” said Rob Russo, DDNA’s general manager. “We are looking forward to the contributions Dan will make to support the team and drive the business forward with new customer opportunities as we increase our sourcing of supply.” 

DDNA is also promoting Rosie Dworak, current senior director of systems and finance, to vice president of operations. Dworak has worked for DDNA for five years and will be responsible for the operations, finance and business systems of the division.
