VIROFLAY, FRANCE – Savencia Fromage & Dairy has acquired Hope Foods, Louisville, Colo., a manufacturer of plant-based dips. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
The acquisition includes Hope Foods’ manufacturing plant in Louisville and is a strategic shift for Savencia.
“Our core business remains cheese and dairy products, but we want to develop new offers in the plant-based category with taste differentiation and premium brands,” said Jean-Paul Torris, chief executive officer of Savencia Fromage & Dairy. “Hope is a strategic fit for us to drive growth in premium natural food products. Hope enlarges our brands portfolio in the USA into fast growing, ‘better-for-you’ products and provides an excellent opportunity to expand consumer options for great tasting, plant-based products.”
Hope Foods’ product range includes hummus, guacamole, and cashew and almond dips. The products are sold under the Hope brand.
Savencia Fromage & Dairy had sales of €5.2 billion ($6 billion) in 2020 and employs approximately 21,000 around the world. Brands owned and operated in North America include Alouette, Rogue Creamery, Ile de France, Chavrie, Smithfield and Supreme.
