HATFIELD, PA. – Global pork producer Clemens Food Group has entered the plant-forward protein segment with the launch of its Hatfield Recipe Essentials Blended sub-brand.  

The banner’s Ground Pork with Mushrooms combines roasted button mushrooms with the all-natural ground pork the brand is so well known for. The pork and mushroom blend allows consumers to savor the flavor of the pork, enriched with heart-healthy, antioxidant-rich, Vitamin D-packed mushrooms that provide several of the same nutritional benefits as vegetables. 

Clemens Food Group began rolling out the product in its East Coast and Midwest retail markets in May. This new sub-brand offers consumers a 14oz package of ground pork blended with mushrooms in two varieties: Unseasoned Ground Pork with Mushrooms and Mild Taco Seasoned Ground Pork with Mushrooms.  

“We could not be more excited to launch Recipe Essentials Blended and drive increased excitement to the ground pork segment,” said Michele Williams, senior retail marketing manager at Clemens Food Group. “The Pandemic has accelerated the growth of ground pork, with consumer demand in this segment growing at a rate that is currently outpacing both ground beef and chicken. While beef is leading in plant-forward blends to date, there is a void in the marketplace for a blended pork option. Clemens Food Group will be the first to offer a plant-forward option in pork.”
