LAKEWOOD, COLO. - In the month of August, Natural Grocers raised over $260,000 for food banks in the communities the retailer serves.
"We are humbled by the response from customers and the hard work from our good4uSM Crew in making August our best fundraising month ever for local food banks in the cities and towns we serve," said Kemper Isely, co-president of Natural Grocers. "At a time when the need for nutritious groceries and high-quality essentials is immense, we are proud to be able to service our communities with gift cards so they can feed themselves and their families in healthful ways."
In September, the retailer is fundraising for the environmental non-profit Beyond Pesticides, which focuses on developing synthetic pesticide-free parks. Natural Grocers hopes to raise $100,000 through instore fundraising opportunities.
The grocer will donate $1 for every reusable, Organic Month Headquarters shopping bag purchased, and customers will have the opportunity to donate $1, $5 or $10 at any Natural Grocer location.
