SEATTLE – According to a recent report by The Milwaukee Business Journal, a Kohl’s store in La Verne, Calif., is working with Amazon to add grocery to the store after the Kohl’s store downsized.

La Verne city records show that Kohl’s would operate within 50,900 square feet of the 88,000-foot store with an Amazon grocery store operating in the rest of the space. The Amazon store will likely run under the Amazon Fresh banner, which is opening multiple retail locations over the next several months.

In the past Kohl’s has been known to share remaining space after a store downsize with other companies such as ALDI and Planet Fitness.

The move to add Amazon grocery in remaining space at the La Verne store expands a partnership that began between Kohl’s and Amazon in 2019 when the department store retailer began accepting Amazon returns in its stores and selling Amazon’s smart home products instore.
