LOS ANGELES – Meat District has launched a new initiative, Feeding the Frontlines, in partnership with iHeartMedia's Ryan Seacrest. The nationwide initiative will donate over $2 million in food to supply chain workers and their families during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Participating grocers include Hy-Vee, Winn-Dixie, Smart & Final, Ralphs and Stater Bros. Meat District is kicking off the initiative with a $150,000-worth donation of its butcher-crafted premium meats to participating grocers’ charitable foundations.

"Feeding the Frontlines would not be possible without the support of our retail partners distributing donations to charities and families in need in our local communities," said Erik Litmanovich, chief executive officer of Meat District. "With extraordinary teamwork between Meat District and our retailers, we are able to help feed thousands of families across the country."

Ryan Seacrest will officially launch Feeding the Frontlines on his nationally syndicated radio show, “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” Listeners will be encouraged to nominate a local favorite supermarket hero for a chance to win a month of free groceries.

The initiative will run through June 7, and each week during Seacrest’s program a winner of a $1,000 gift card will be announced.
