After a July 27 complaint from a customer about extraneous materials in poultry products and an ensuing investigation by officials at Decatur, Alabama-based Wayne Farms LLC, the company issued a recall of 438,960 lbs. of frozen, fully cooked poultry products on Sept. 4, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The products, which are suspected of containing metal pieces, were produced between July 4 and July 17 and shipped to further processors, distributors and restaurants throughout the US. They bear the establishment number P-20214 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

There have been no reports of adverse reactions or injury resulting from the consumption of these products.
