CHICAGO — Gurnee, Illinois-based ifiGourmet showcased its new cannalo shells at the 2018 National Restaurant Association Show.
The shells are shipped to instore bakeries and other customers, where they are filled with chocolate, gelato and other fillings, the company’s Candace Strauch said at the show.
The shells come in short and long sizes and are either plain or coated with one of three coatings: cocoa, striped and original. Flavors include puffed rice, amaretto, chocolate and coconut.
“They’re a little more intriguing than regular cannoli,” Strauch said.
IfiGourmet produces pastries and other baked goods, chocolate, candy and ice cream.
