Ready Pac Foods donated 24,000 of its Chicken Caesar Bistro Bowls to Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Employees of Irwindale, Calif.-based Ready Pac, a wholly-owned subsidiary of French-based Bonduelle, loaded the value-added salads on a truck that left Southern California for the Houston area on Aug. 25. The salads were distributed by American Red Cross Disaster Relief teams.

“Giving back to the community has always been an important part of Ready Pac Foods’ culture, and knowing there would be a big need in Texas with the storm coming, we had to get involved,” Tony Sarsam, Ready Pac’s CEO, said in a news release. “Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those affected by Hurricane Harvey and the resulting devastating floods.”

While most of Ready Pac’s Bistro products are sold in produce departments, some are marketed in or near grocery store delis.
