Food Lion is freshening up nearly 100 of its Greensboro, NC-area locations, announcing it will invest $178 million in remodels this year.

The Salisbury, NC-based retailer says the plan also includes additional price investment s throughout the year and investments in associates and the community through Food Lion Needs.

“We’re proud to have been a part of the greater Greensboro community since 1968, and are excited to bring our newest format to this market,” said Meg Ham, Food Lion president. “We look forward to making significant investments in our stores, our customers, our associates and our communities to offer a new grocery shopping experience.”

A big part of the remodel will be an expanded offering of natural and organic products in all departments. According to the Ashboro, NC Courier-Tribune, this includes an increased selection of artisan breads for the in-store bakery.
