LAS VEGAS – At PACK EXPO Las Vegas, held Sept. 22-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, robotics technology took center stage. The Robotics Zone featured demonstrations from a number of exhibitors showcasing technology for all facets of packaging for a number of industries, including consumer packaged goods.

To create a multi-faceted experience, Bosh Packaging Technology incorporated a level of social responsibility into its Robotics Zone demonstration by partnering with Blessings in a Backpack, a local nonprofit providing food for school-age children affected by food insecurity.

The packaging company demonstrated robotic technology using its Bosch Pack 102 flowwrapper integrated with Fanuc robotic automation. Show attendees had the opportunity to write hand-written messages on cardboard slats, on which the equipment then placed a variety of nonperishable snacks and then bagged in the flowwrapper.

Each meal kit was packaged using 2D and 3D vision technology.
