Twang Partners in April celebrates its 30th year manufacturing premium-flavored salts, sugars and seasonings for the food and beverage industry. The company has been an industry pioneer in creating flavorful blends that have driven consumer demand for products that add flavor and fun to food and drinks.

Roger Trevino, Sr. founded Twang Partners following a business trip to Mexico City where he stumbled upon a street vendor selling packaged citrus salt. The salt’s taste took him back to the flavors of his childhood in San Antonio – salty sour pickles, lemons with a dash of salt and fruit sprinkled with chili and lime. Both delighted and inspired, Treviño returned home and immediately began research and development for a high-quality citrus flavored salt for snacks and beverages. Over the next few years, he collaborated with companies across the country to develop the perfect formula, design eye-catching packaging and manufacture the final product, which was debuted to the public in April 1986.

The first blends produced by Twang Partners were a lemon-lime salt and a pickle flavored salt, available in 1-gram packets. Ten years later, Anheuser-Busch and Twang joined forces to create a co-branded product that introduced Twang Beer Salt to a mainstream American audience and launched the company into a period of significant growth.

Today, the privately-held company is still family-owned and operated by Roger Treviño and his children, Roger Jr., Patrick, Elysia and Jacob. They are joined by an extended family of more than 50 employees at Twang’s headquarters in southwest San Antonio. The company also operates an additional manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, known as Twang South.

“My vision for Twang started with one packet of salt that I purchased on the street in Mexico City so many years ago,” said Roger Treviño, Sr., founder of Twang Partners. “To see how the company has grown and thrived over thirty years is a dream come true for me and for my family, and I am thankful to

all those that have helped us get here, especially our Twang employees. I feel honored that my children have joined the family business, and I can’t wait to see where they take it in the next 30 years.”

Twang products can be found in grocery, convenience, liquor and specialty stores nationwide in over 38 states.
