MADISON, WIS. – As part of its efforts to expand membership services, the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) named Danica Nilsestuen the organization’s new grant and business programs director.

The WCMA shared that Nilsestuen will lead the administration of grant programs, including funds distributed via the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance. She also will help WCMA members as they search for new business development and workforce opportunities.

Previously, Nilsestuen worked for the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin, where she managed a multimillion-dollar portfolio of federal grants. Her career experience includes 10-plus years of business development and workforce innovation.

WCMA executive director John Umhoefer said the association is confident Nilsestuen will add value for members nationwide.

"As WCMA members rise to the challenge of an ever-changing industry landscape, our team is here with a toolbox of resources to support business growth,” Umhoefer said.

The new grant and business programs director said she is grateful to join WCMA and serve an industry that helps feed the world.

“I’m excited to bring my knowledge and experience to the table to help members meet their business goals and pursue new growth opportunities,” she said.
