FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – The chief operating officer at Beyond Meat Inc., who also previously held the position of group president of the poultry segment at Tyson Foods Inc., was suspended by the meat alternative company following a physical altercation at an Arkansas Razorbacks football game.

According to information provided by the Washington County Jail, Ramsey was charged and arrested on charges of terroristic threatening and third-degree battery. He was released on Sept. 18 after posting $11,085 in bond.

Several local media reports said that Ramsey become outraged after another driver attempted to edge in front of Ramsey’s vehicle in a University of Arkansas parking garage. The other car reportedly made contact with the wheel of Ramsey’s sport utility vehicle.

Police reports said Ramsey left his vehicle and “punched through the back windshield” of the other car. Other details from the initial report said that Ramsey punched the other man repeatedly and bit his nose. 

Ramsey was appointed COO of Beyond Meat in December 2021. He previously worked with Tyson Foods, where he held several leadership roles, including group president of the poultry segment and the global McDonald’s business president. 

Ramsey’s career with Tyson began in 1992 when he worked in roles associated with the company’s domestic and international business segments.

Ramsey is scheduled to appear in Fayetteville District Court scheduled for October 19.
