GLENDALE, CALIF. — Plant-based protein brand Unmeat, a subsidiary of Century Pacific Food, Inc., Manila, Philippines, has launched its new fish-free tuna.

The tuna alternative is made with non-GMO ingredients, contains zero mercury or trans-fat and will be available in three varieties: Tuna in Sunflower Oil, Tuna in Water and Tuna Hot & Spicy.

“Our company’s legacy is rooted in providing protein-rich brands of packaged foods over four decades, and we’re excited to offer a fish alternative for those looking to incorporate more plant-based foods into their daily lives,” said Gregory Banzon, chief operating officer of Century Pacific Food.

The fish-free tuna joins burger patties, ground meat, luncheon meat, sausages and nuggets in the company’s plant-based product line.

Unmeat products are currently available through online retailers GTFO, It’s Vegan! and Weee! or select stores in the Midwest and East Coast. The company also has plans to expand its national retailer availability this fall.
