WESTFIELD, PA. – Painterland Sisters, a family business born on a Pennsylvania dairy farm, announced the retail debut of its Organic Skyr Yogurt, which arrived in dairy aisles for the first time in five flavors.

The organic, lactose-free yogurt from the certified women-owned business is produced using whole milk and sweetened naturally using fruits and cane sugar. It differs from common yogurt varieties, too, with its skyr – pronounced “skeer” – Icelandic style, which is thicker and creamier.

The skyr yogurts contain up to 18 grams of protein per one-serving container and, per Painterland Sisters, billions of probiotics (BB12).

The yogurts made their launch at all Giant and Martin’s grocery stores, as well as other retail locations, in 5.3 oz single serving cups that are available in Plain, Blueberry Lemon, Strawberry, Vanilla Bean and Meadow Berry flavors.

“My sister and I both have very active lifestyles, and we wanted a healthy snack that gave us the energy we need throughout the day, was rich in protein and calcium and convenient for on-the-go people,” said Painterland Sisters co-founder Hayley Painter. “Skyr checks off all the boxes, with the added benefit that it’s delicious.”

The organic milk used to produce the skyr yogurt comes from Pennsylvania family farms. Painterland’s fourth generation family farm uses regenerative practices and chemical-free fertilizers, and its cows graze freely on open pastures.

“We both grew up on our family farm and feel deeply connected to the land and the animals,” said co-founder Stephanie Painter, sister of Hayley. “As farmers, we now have the opportunity to take control of our own destiny by connecting directly with consumers. Painterland Sisters is connecting consumers with a vibrant, sustainable and meaningful food system. We aim to empower them with honest and convenient dairy products that support our family’s fourth-generation dairy farm.”
