For almost 30 years, California-based and family-owned and operated Pacific Resources International (PRI) is the pioneer and exclusive importer of high quality, premium, raw Manuka honey and unique products sourced directly from New Zealand. David Noll, founder and CEO of PRI, lived and worked in New Zealand for over 15 years before deciding to move back to the US and bring with him New Zealand's Manuka honey and products, such as Pacific sea salts.

Having worked with beekeepers, bee enthusiasts, government, and third-party regulators, Noll's extensive knowledge and expertise on Manuka honey and New Zealand products have made him a prominent and influential resource among industry experts and players.

"PRI is one of the few exclusive companies that directly import Manuka honey from the source, New Zealand," says Noll. "Every retail pack of Manuka honey we bring in to the US is independently tested and certified pure and have met strict standards and regulations imposed by the New Zealand government."

Approximately 9,000 to 12,000 tons of honey are produced annually in New Zealand, with almost half exported. These exports are valued around $81 million, including $4 million of premium raw honey which PRI brings into the US.

But why Manuka? For centuries, the Native Maori people of New Zealand have used Manuka Honey to help fight bacterial infections and maintain immunity and digestion. PRI products, such as Mossop's UMF 15+ Raw Manuka Honey, have a powerful level of antibacterial properties—far beyond those found in traditional honeys. While all honeys have some antibacterial activity, the potency of this antibacterial activity can fluctuate up to 100-fold and varies upon the honey's floral source.

Manuka Honey is a mono-flower honey made by bees that feed solely on the uncultivated New Zealand Manuka bush, also called the "tea tree." What makes Manuka Honey special is the presence of unique enzymes that are tolerant to high heat, light and storage, as confirmed by researchers at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. What this means is that Manuka Honey's superfood immunity-supporting qualities can be bottled, preserved, and shipped around the world when other honeys would lose this antibacterial strength.”

"Sustainability harvested from New Zealand, our Manuka Honey is divinely sweet and pure," says Noll. "At the same time, Manuka Honey is an incredible aid to the body's nature defense system. We are proud to carry pure, premium, raw Manuka honey today and many years to come."
