WESTMINSTER, COLO. — Niman Ranch, a subsidiary of Perdue Farms, recently announced it partnered with Fortune Fish & Gourmet, a processor of seafood, meats and gourmet products.

With the agreement, Niman will expand its products into restaurants and select retail outlets in major markets like Detroit, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Omaha, Neb., and Birmingham, Ala., among others.

“We are excited to partner with Fortune as we bring the finest tasting meat from Niman Ranch to new markets across the country,” said John Flynn, Niman Ranch’s vice president of sales. “We are especially happy to now serve areas of the country in our farmers’ backyards, so they can enjoy the meat they work so hard to raise at some of the best local restaurants in their community.”

Niman Ranch has a network of 750 independent farmers and ranchers. Their meat is third-party certified under the Certified Humane program. All products are sustainably raised without the use of antibiotics or hormones. Fortune Fish & Gourmet has three main facilities for its distribution in Benesenville, Ill., Minneapolis and Bayou La Barte, Ala. The company was founded in 2001.

“We are thrilled to add this purpose driven brand and sustainability leader to our high-quality portfolio,” said Mark Palicki, president of Fortune Fish & Gourmet. “We are proud to now offer this premium brand to our customers throughout the United States.”

Fortune and Niman Ranch will be co-hosting events this spring and summer to introduce the brand to more chefs and restaurateurs in the Midwest. The events will start virtual and will move to in-person when it is safe to do so, according to the companies.

Events will include invite-only chef tastings, farm tours and sustainable agriculture educational seminars.
