MADISON, WIS. - The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) and IRI will introduce the Integrated Fresh database announced earlier in December during a webinar on Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. CST.

The new database tracks sales of random-weight as well as traditional UPC items that can be shared across the industry with retailers and manufacturers to give a more holistic view of the store.

According to the developers, It’s the first fact-based data definition of departments, such as dairy, deli, bakery, meat, seafood and produce, and is based on extensive research on which products and attributes many retailers and suppliers consider to be among items found in these departments. Previous definitions varied because they were based on opinion, not a majority-rules, data-driven approach.

During the webinar, IRI’s Jonna Parker and Jim Carlson will detail how the new database system works, insights and observations the database is already revealing, and how it can benefit the industry.
