ELMWOOD PARK, NJ. — After 25 years in the frozen food aisle, Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods is unveiling its first refrigerated product line. The new offerings include two vegan, Non-GMO Project verified burgers.

The Classic Veggie Burger combines carrots, onions, peppers, peas, kale, zucchini, leafy greens, quinoa and brown rice. Each patty contains 220 calories and 13 grams of protein.

The Chipotle Black Bean Veggie Burger features a blend of black beans, corn, peppers and brown rice with chipotle. Each patty contains 220 calories and 16 grams of protein.

“As meat alternative products expand to all corners of the grocery store, Dr. Praeger’s wants to meet our customers where they are shopping and provide the veggie-forward options they love,” said Larry Praeger, chief executive officer of Dr. Praeger’s. “We know there is still a large market for traditional veggie burgers that look and taste like vegetables, and we want to continue to provide this option to our customers in every section where they are shopping.”

Dr. Praeger’s refrigerated burgers will be available at select Walmart stores nationwide in packs of two for $4.98.
