SALISBURY, MD. – Perdue Farms announced Tom Harmon has joined the company as senior vice president and chief human resources officer, effective July 9. He reports to Randy Day, chief executive officer of Perdue Farms.

Harmon most recently served as vice president and chief human resources officer at Myers Industries Inc., a diversified manufacturing company based in Akron, Ohio. In his role at Perdue, Harmon will oversee all aspects of human resources leadership, including corporate HR, talent management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, diversity and inclusion and Perdue HealthWorks.

“Tom is an exceptional human resources executive and a tremendous addition to our senior leadership team,” Day said. “I look forward to his contributions to help the company achieve its goals and long-term objectives.”

Harmon brings more than 35 years of experience across the manufacturing sector to his role at Perdue Farms. He held leadership positions with manufacturing companies Dawn Food Products, Armstrong World Industries, Pfizer, PepsiCo and Nestlé.

Harmon holds a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and a Bachelo’s degree in business administration and computer science from State University of New York at Genesco.
