ROCHESTER, NY – Wegmans Food Markets has closed all of its Pub by Wegmans locations. The locations were temporarily shut down earlier this year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but the grocer announced that the closures will be permanent.

“We know those who love our Pub restaurants will be disappointed to learn that we have made the decision not to reopen our 12 Pubs across the company,” Deana Percassi, Wegmans’ spokesperson, told the Democrat & Chronicle newspaper. “We are focused on applying our culinary expertise to the increasing demand for fast, casual meal solutions available in our stores, for pickup, and through delivery.”

The 12 pubs included dine-in seating, full-service bars and menus with burgers, sandwiches, salads, entrees and snacks. The now-vacant pub spaces will become part of Wegmans’ future restaurant foods strategy in the future.
