NEW YORK – Nielsen has released its Nielsen Total US dollar sales data for one- and four-week periods ending on March 28 in comparison to the same timeframes in 2019.  

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the United States still seems to be driving sales numbers up. Overall, consumer packaged goods sales were up a total of 21.5% for the week ending on March 28. That’s down a bit from the week ending on March 21, which saw a 67.9% increase. 

The charts below reflect the sales numbers Nielsen identified for meat, dairy and produce products in the fresh perimeter for the one-week period leading up to March 21, the one-week period leading up to March 28 and the four-week period leading up to March 28.
