KALAMAZOO, MICH. - Michigan-based foodservice packaging solutions company Fabri-Kal announced it has begun production of plastic medical face shields at its Kalamazoo technical center in a partnership with Schupan & Sons and Tekna.

“We started this whole thing with the idea that we need to protect our employees, protect our community, and then protect our business,” said Mike Roeder, president and chief operating officer of Fabri-Kal. “Because if you don’t have the first two, the third one doesn’t much matter.”

The first batch of face shields are scheduled to arrive at healthcare facilities in southwest Michigan later this week.
