POINT REYES, CALIF. – Point Reyes Cheese Farmstead Company is a nationally certified Women’s Business Enterprise named by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

The announcement from the company that specializes in hand-crafted, artisan cheeses comes on the heels of International Women’s Day, which was celebrated on March 8.

“Our focus is to create a work environment that supports women with work/life balance, strong leadership and opportunities for growth,” said Lynn Giacomini Strey, Point Reyes Cheese’s chief operating officer. “As a family business, we contribute to the economy and our local community with a woman’s perspective on enhancing personal and professional development. We care about the big things and little things in life, understanding that women wear many hats. Over 55% of our workforce are women and we lead by example.”

WBENC certification requires a business to be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by women, and includes an in-depth review of business and site inspection.
