REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. — Dan Greene has joined Impossible Foods as senior vice-president of U.S. sales.

Previously, Mr. Greene was chief revenue officer for conversational artificial intelligence start-up msg.ai and was an executive consultant with various early-stage software companies. Prior to that, he spent nearly five years at Twitter as vice-president of U.S. sales and director of sales and operations. Earlier in his career, Mr. Greene spent nearly six years at Google in a range of leadership roles, including director of new products and solutions and head of online sales and operations for Google TV and YouTube ads.

Before beginning his career, Mr. Greene graduated from The United States Naval Academy and served more than 10 years as a Navy fighter pilot and director of operations for multiple aviation units. He left active duty in 2004 and received a master’s degree in business administration at the University of California Los Angeles before going to Google.

Mr. Greene joins Impossible Foods two weeks after the company made its retail debut by launching the Impossible Burger in Gelson’s Markets in Southern California. Last week, the company expanded retail distribution to the East coast, including all 100 Wegmans grocery stores in seven states and two Manhattan locations of Fairway Market.

“It’s thrilling to join this company as it launches into retail and scales up production and capacity to become ubiquitous,” Mr. Green said. “It’s also an incredible opportunity to not only build a great business but have a profound impact on our world and our environment at the same time. Most importantly, I’m excited to meet and listen to our customers so I can understand how to better serve our clients and consumers.”
