Potatoes are the No. 1 comfort food in the U.S., according to a new survey.

Fifty-five percent of Americans picked potatoes, which beat out pizza (21%), mac and cheese (15%) and pasta (9%) for the title, according to the survey, commissioned by The Little Potato Company, a specialist in creamer potatoes.

Thirty percent of Americans say mashed are their favorite way to eat potatoes, 23% picked fries and 22% prefer baked.

In addition, one in four millennials would give up cheeseburgers if it meant they had to choose between them and potatoes.

Other findings of the survey include:

  • Nearly half (49%) of Americans eat potatoes a few times a week.
  • Dinner is the most popular meal for Americans to eat potatoes (67%). The least popular? Brunch (4%).
  • Butter is America’s preferred potato topping, with 40% of people slathering it on their spuds.
  • 1/4 of Americans don’t know that potatoes are vegetables.
