Guests at The United Family™ stores received a special break on Tax Day (Tuesday, April 15), when they were treated to free beans and cornbread at 51 locations of United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos locations across Texas.

The comfort food was available from 4 to 8 p.m. for dine-in only in the deli section of participating stores.

The United Family™ debuted the Tax Day promotion in its Dallas-Fort Worth Market Street locations last year, and the community initiative was so well received, the company decided to offer beans and cornbread chain-wide this year.

“We are excited to offer the Tax Day comfort food promotion in Dallas and West Texas this year, and bring our communities together during a time in which we could all use a little relief,” said Robert Taylor president of The United Family™.

In Dallas-Fort Worth, guests enjoyed all-you-can-eat beans and cornbread with no purchase necessary during the promotion, while guests in West Texas can receive one serving of the popular Southern dish.

“Each of our stores values its connection to the community, and this is an opportunity for us to give back to our guests after the dreaded tax season,” added Taylor. “We hope our guests join us with their family and friends to enjoy some comfort food and put Tax Day behind them.”
