Retail prices for beef, pork, seafood and vegetables are all higher than last year at the same time, but poultry prices are lower.

Beef and veal prices rose 2.1% from May 2018 to May 2019, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service’s latest Food Price Outlook report.

Pork prices rose by 2.1% over the same period, seafood prices by 2.9% and vegetable prices by 5.2%.

Poultry prices dropped .4%.

The report also updated its forecasts for 2019 as a whole. Beef and veal and seafood prices are expected to rise from between 1 and 2% for the year, poultry from 0 to 1% and vegetables from 3 to 4%.

Pork prices could be similar to 2018, with a projected change of -.5 to .5%.
