LONDONDERRY, N.H. – Change is afoot at foodservice distributor Poultry Products Northeast. The company has a new name — Prime Source Foods. And, a new 105,000-sq.-ft. distribution facility is in the works at a site in Londonderry, New Hampshire, following a recent $30 million investment from a new ownership group.

The facility will include 40,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, most of which will be refrigerated or frozen. A refrigerated dock will cover 18,000 sq. ft. while 8,000 sq. ft. will be designated for processing space, according to the company. Another 3,000 sq. ft. will include a test kitchen and presentation space. Prime Source Foods expects the new facility will enable the company to be more efficient, augment its product lines, and achieve higher fill rates and service levels for its customers. The facility is scheduled to open February of 2020.

“This is a historic day for our company and its future,” said Bill Conrad, CEO and president of Prime Source Foods. “So many people have worked hard for over 60 years to make it what it is today, and now we are so thrilled to begin our next chapter with a new name and grow with the Londonderry community.”

Along with the new facility, the company has transitioned its branding to reflect the name change to Prime Source Foods which encompasses the product variety and growth of the company. The company initially focused on poultry processing, but eventually grew to primarily distribute a variety of poultry, beef, pork, seafood, ethnic specialties and produce. As part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the distribution facility held June 12, the company unveiled new branded trucks. Dignitaries attending the event included Kari Thurman, district director for US Rep. Chris Pappas; Michele Cota, special assistant for policy and projects at the for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen; State Representative Doug Thomas (District 5); Sharon Carson, State Senate District 14; and Londonderry Town Manager Kevin H. Smith.
