A grocery chain known for its instore bakeries and for the experiences it provides its consumers is expanding into New Jersey.

Stew Leonard’s will open an 80,000 square foot store in Paramus, New Jersey, in a former Sears department store. A groundbreaking ceremony for the store was held on March 29.

The store will source fresh produce from hundreds of regional farms and employ dozens of chefs, butchers, fishmongers and more, preparing gourmet foods daily. And like its sister locations, the new Paramus space will feature an instore “from-scratch” bakery, Stew Leonard’s signature one-way aisle, and interactive animatronic characters which will perform shows to entertain families while shopping

Stew Leonard’s currently has six locations in Connecticut and New York State.
