Green Bay, Wisconsin-based BelGioioso Cheese won six medals — five gold and one bronze — at the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest at Lambeau Field last week.

The company took home first place finishes for its Parmesan (Parmesan class), Aged Provolone Mandarini (Aged Provolone class), Crema di Mascarpone (Open Class Soft Cheeses), Fresh Mozzarella Snacking (Natural Snacking class), and La Bottega de BelGioioso Artigiano Vino Rosso (Open Class Flavored Cheeses).

The third-place medal came from the Fresh Mozzarella Prosciutto & Fresh Basil Roll in the Prepared Food category.

“The first place medals represent a variety of our cheeses, including Sharp Provolone, Parmesan, Crema di Mascarpone, Fresh Mozzarella and our newest cheese Artigiano Vino Rosso,” says Gaetano Auricchio, BelGioioso's executive vice president. “My father started with a goal to create great cheeses here in the U.S. and our cheesemaker’s expertise is key to our award-winning quality. We now have 8 certified master cheesemakers on staff and they are all very passionate about their craft.”
