Walmart is testing yet another autonomous delivery vehicle program in Arizona, and this time it's a van.

The retail giant is partnering with California company Udelv that will use modified self-driving Fort Transit Connect vans to delivery orders for more than 30 customers in a 7.5-mile radius around the store.

"Udelv's mission is to reinvent traditional delivery models by developing the world's best self-driving delivery technology," Udelv CEO Daniel Laury says. "With our new shape-shifting cargo space technology, we are going to bring the most innovative technology to market."

The delivery vans will have safety drivers on board until both companies — not to mention regulators — agree that it is safe to remove them.

Walmart is also piloting a self-driving delivery option in the state with Waymo.
