J. H. Routh Packing Co. is recalling approximately 1,719 pounds of raw pork sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically rubber, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced.

Sandusky, Ohio-based J.H. Routh produced the ground bulk and link sausage items from Jan. 1 through Jan. 4.

The firm discovered the problem and notified FSIS on Jan. 7.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.  

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in retailers and consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
